Yvess Rossy-Jet man

Yves Rossy,45 who was formerly a military pilot now spends his days flying airbuses for SwissAir and tweaking, tuning, testing, and developing this exciting flying man project (jet-man project). But because of his intriguing project he became the first man to fly like a horizontally like a bird achieving flight for more than 4 minutes at 100 knots (115 mph).

To do this he strapped two more kerosene-powered jet engines to his original wing design to give him some extra boost and jumped out of a plane about 4000m over the Yverdon airfield. Handles with electronics that allowed him to control the wingtips allowed him to choose to glide or dive.

Its almost like controlling an RC plane with yourself strapped in it, but can you imagine how fun that would be? Here is a video are some pictures for you guys to check out. enjoy =)

He is great, for me the first real Icarus. I’m pilot of helicopter and plane it is beautiful, but something like Yvess do…slowly real dream becomes true. He has great courage and mind so I wish him lucky long life.

    Kind regards
    Filip
